Inspiration Is Everywhere.
01
References are raw material
Inspiration rarely arrives as a finished idea. It usually starts with something small: a photograph, a building, a piece of packaging, a book, a strange detail, or even the way light falls across a surface.
The important part isn’t collecting references. It’s noticing why they caught your attention.
02
Look outside the category
The most interesting references are often unrelated to the problem you’re solving. Architecture can influence packaging. Editorial design can influence digital products. Film can influence typography.
Looking within the same category only teaches you what the category already knows.
03
Curiosity makes the difference
A reference becomes useful when you start asking questions about it. Why does this composition feel balanced? Why does this material feel expensive? Why does this image hold attention?
Inspiration becomes design when observation turns into understanding.
